Let's get down to business.  Parabens are made up of several chemical compounds used as anti-microbial preservatives, generally absorbed through the skin, gastrointestinal tract, and blood.  According to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics Database, U.K. researchers found measurable concentrations of six different parabens in 20 human breast tumors. Scary!

There is conflicting information about the safety of parabens – after all, they are found in a majority of personal care products.  But since there is mounting evidence about the dangers that prolonged use can cause, (and thousands of product companies at work formulating paraben-free lines,) it is probably wise to take a precautionary route.  Companies that produce paraben free products are proud of it and will almost certainly put it right on the label.  We do and we are!

Possible Risks of Paraben Exposure

In Women:  Parabens can mimic the hormone estrogen, which is known to play a role in the development of breast cancers.

In Men:  Studies show that prolonged exposure can reduce testosterone and damage the function of the male reproductive system.

In Children: If it is sketchy for adults, it is dangerous for children.

How to Avoid Parabens

Look For: methylparaben, propylparaben, ethylparaben and butylparaben.

At Worldwide Skin, we feel a duty to provide products that are as safe as possible.  ALL products created for ALL divisions of Worldwide Skin are paraben free, and always will be.
